Currently, I am still in school hoping to better my grades so I can change my Work Experience to an apprenticeship to learn more skills and advance my career.
I'm incredibly enthusiastic towards Technology & Electronics and would love to develop a career in this. I have been working at Omega PLC Kitchens for the past few months as an IT Technician as part of my School Work Experience, in which I am responsible for fixing hardware and software, replying to support tickets and much more. I spend time in both the factory and the office. This enables me to carry out a variety of tasks. Some of the tasks I complete include creating new accounts and licenses for new starters, providing resolutions to problems, as well as deploying and setting up new desktops and laptops. Since IT is becoming such a big sector in most jobs nowadays, I am glad I love doing this as much as I imagined I would. I hope to continue working in IT-related jobs.
I really enjoy wild camping, which you may think is ironic considering my tech interests. I think of it as a 2nd life β when I'm camping I stay away from technology and enjoy nature and wildlife. As it stands, I have only ever been with my grandad, and I have learned most of my skills from him. We built a camp named Camp Fox, which is essentially a shelter with a separate room where you can relax and listen to the animals. It has now sadly been destroyed though, but we hope to build another camp somewhere else in the future.
We also have a Hot Tent and a Bell Tent which we have camped in. Both can have a log burner inside and it is a great experience to cook food on it. We also find it interesting to walk through the woods and see what's around. For example, we found some burrows in the ground that foxes and badgers had dug out, and they are most likely hiding food in them. When it's time for bed, it's great to listen to the birds tweeting in the trees, and occasionally you can even hear, owls, pheasants, foxes, deer, geese, and oddly enough, ducks.
Overall, I think it is a great experience, but I still have much more to learn and I hope to continue doing it β maybe even on my own.
In my free time, I enjoy making websites, even if they don't end up going public, learning how to code in HTML, listening to 80's music, catching up on social media, taking my dog for a walk, watching YouTube videos, and occasionally even creating tech tutorials and how-to videos for my own YouTube channel.
